Coming Soon: Scottish Highlands Estate
Having fallen in love with Perthshire many years ago, our client – who we have worked with several times before – has long known that this is where he’d like his family home to be.
Our client discovered a historic plot, once home to a grand mansion lost to fire over a century ago. Working with Adam Architecture, they have created a new Georgian-style stately home that complements the local vernacular. The project also includes the restoration of the 17-acre formal gardens, originally designed by the renowned landscape architect Thomas Mawson, reviving the estate’s historic charm.
Inside, a library, drawing room and dining room makes up the formal end of the house; as our client moves through the property it becomes more relaxed, with a kitchen, family breakfast dining space and snug. All five bedrooms will be on one level upstairs.
Knowing our client so well means that we are familiar with his interior design taste – which includes plenty of bold colours and patterns. Our task is to strike a balance between creating a fun character that nods to Scotland while respecting the aesthetic of the architecture.
The completed project will be unveiled in Spring 2025.
