Georgian Rectory
Set in the gorgeous Oxfordshire countryside, this manor house and adjoining chapel are a beautiful example of classical Georgian architecture.
The property was a lucky find for our clients who had their hearts set on moving their young family from London to the country. With three young boys and a busy life, our clients approached us to help them create a family home. Although tired in appearance, the property had beautiful bones and wonderfully preserved period features which meant very little building work was required. This made it possible for the family to live in the property while it was renovated.
To create a comfy and relaxed interior, we used a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces, combining wools, linens and velvets. These were threaded throughout the home.
A favourite feature is the large glazed doors separating the kitchen and living spaces on the ground floor. Both practical and beautiful, the doors offer privacy whilst allowing inviting glimpses of rooms beyond. A natural colour scheme with splashes of dusty pink draws the rooms together to create a welcoming yet elegant family home.
