'The Evolution of Home': Launch Highlights
Recently we invited our dear friends, family, and partners in the industry to celebrate the launch of our first interiors book 'The Evolution of Home', which was published by Rizzoli.
The launch was attended by Emma Sims-Hilditch - who wore an autumnal dress by Pink City Prints - and her team, along with co-author Giles Kime of Country Life and book photographer Simon Brown. They were joined by Chelsea Textiles' Founder Mona Perlhagen and Design Director Jenny Simpson who kindly allowed the Sims Hilditch team to re-design elements of their Pimlico Road showroom for the event.
Also present were members of House and Garden, The Telegraph, Architectural Digest and Veranda magazine who joined together with our valued partners and industry contacts including architects, contractors and buying agents.
The Showroom
To style the showroom ready for the launch, Emma selected a range of fabrics by Chelsea Textiles to reupholster two armchairs and a sofa from Sims Hilditch's furniture collection in partnership with George Smith.
The respective fabrics chosen for the armchairs include Dianthus Vine - a delicate hand embroidered design in a blue colourway - and Marcel Stripe, a fabric based on a French 18th Century ticking in an antique blue. A beautiful sage green woollen fabric named Bampton was chosen for the sofa upholstery and the cushions were covered in Marcel Stripe, Bourbon Flower, Hugo Stripe and Dianthus Vine.
Book Signing
Emma spent time at the event signing copies of 'The Evolution of Home' for her guests, which were available for purchase courtesy of Potterton Books. Copies of the book are still available via Potterton, or on the respective Sims Hilditch and Rizzoli websites.
We are delighted with the reception 'The Evolution of Home' has had and we are truly grateful for the support we have received. Many thanks to all those who attended the launch and who have purchased the book so far.
